A Rock and Hard Place - Making as few guards as possible

So I was wondering did anyone find a way to complete an optional objective to make sure that as few guards as possible arrive at the quarry?
I have convinced Captain Robard to sent less men and gave poison to the groom in the castle.
Fritz also said that you can commit some crime in Talmberg so citizens ask for more guards. I’ve tried burglary, fights and even murder, but every time it comes to a quarry robbery, this optional objective fails.

Any thoughts on what needs to be done in order to complete it?

I got the objective cleared by doing as you said for the first 2, then murdered someone in their sleep, dumped the corpse in the middle of the road so someone would find it and sure enough, a guard walked by, sounded the alarm and I got the objective.

I had to stealth kill three guards at night.
