Adding your own Crests

If there ever ends up being a way and reason for someone to have their own arms, something from a set batch of possible designs would be the way to go for the single-player experience. Modding? That’s up to whatever’s made available.

Otherwise, given the way the game is being made and the way it’s intended to have the story told, I see no way it’d be sensible for people to just be able to make whatever they want. Especially if it could involve uploading something of your own, it’d break immersion quickly.

no one said that you had to add your crest to the game but it would be nice to have the option to add back story that your chareactor is your ancestor that traveled to this land and decided to take part and no one said that your chareactor had to be born in the native land he could be traveling to take part of something to prove his courage some people did that so they can prove there worthy so how is that immersion breaking

First, please use punctuation. Sorry, it really helps in understanding what someone is saying.

As for who the character is, I think that’s going to be pretty well-defined by Warhorse. He’s not some random character with no history or backstory. He’s not just going to have some random coat of arms, if he even gets any at all.

We already know he’s the son of a blacksmith who gets killed, so there’s no reason to think he’s a “stranger in a strange land.” As far as the actual game itself goes, no - he is not “your ancestor.”

Please read what Kazak wrote above.

Thanks FLASHFIRE. I mist that post. I still would love a mod in time. So we can choose a little bit of our the back story.

I’d still feel that I’d rather have the main charater wear the colours/insignia of the lord he serves, and that’s if/when he has earned the right to in the story.

For example in myy re-enactment group we ‘serve’ the Duke of Buckingham/The Stafford family and the Livery coat is half Black and red with a Stafford knot.

Basicly he was showing off just how wealthy he was, as black and bright red wool/material where very exspensive and only the very rich wor it, so by dressing his staff in it he was showing off big time.

We also have the personal emblem of the Duke of Buckingham which is a rampant swan, we have these on a sheild and flag.

Now I presume, rightly or wrongly, that there would have been something simmilar in Bohemia at the time, so for me if there is going to be a crest/colour it should be the ones of the ruling lord in that time/area.
