Does anybody know how to cure “back troubles”? I can’t run and the villagers keep making fun of my weird posture and asking if I have “back troubles”.
Maybe you need some rest. Sleep?
Simple, do not get caught sneaking.
Ah, I did try and steal a few apples. Can you cure this by sleeping then?
There is nothing to be cured. People are openly expressing your strange behavior when crouched.
I’m not crouched though, that’s what I’m finding really strange.

Are you playing on continued game or a New Start?
You also said you cannot run? Check in the menus if you are tired you may need a rest.
I’m playing a continued game, so I’m assuming it’s a bug. I’ve tried resting as well. This started straight after I waited for 12 in game hours whilst not in a bed. Perhaps that has something to do with it.
Unfortunately saves can be corrupted and the wait time has a tendency to bug out.
The easiest fix is to start a new game.
I start with new game every time I play, its a bit tedious but I get the best overall results for continuous play without bugs.
Yes, unfortunately it is a bug, the game still thinks you are still crouching.
