Alcoholism corrupted all my saves?

I don’t even know how this is possible…

I got alcoholism and then realized that it reduced all my stats a great deal, and that it would take forever to wait for it to go away (because the hair of the dog potion didn’t work at all)… and then I thought, “oh well, it’s only been around an hour since my last save…” so I reloaded from a prior save.

Well, the alcoholism went away, but I still had the debuff on all my stats!?!?! WTF?

Long story short… it affected all my saves… all the way back… I don’t even know how that is possible.

So… I just loaded up my most recent save, and waited for a week or so for it to go away.

I’m not drinking alcohol in the game again… that’s a silly thing to happen.

lesson learned. How much were you drinking, including snaps?

Savior Schnaps is based on alcohol

A lot! I read about somebody passing out and waking up on a pillar next to a treasure chest… so, I was going for that. I got alcoholism the second time I passed out. I never read about the bug that the Hair of the Dog potion didn’t actually work to cure it, so I was going to just drink that if it actually happened. Then the potion didn’t work.

No worries… like I said, I waited a week and the alcoholism went away… and the debuff disappeared from all my past saves too. I had to go back and look. Pure curiosity.

I just don’t understand how it could have affected all of them like that. I always assumed that past save files were isolated from the game somehow.

I don’t think that’s a bug. I think hare of the dog is for a hang over, alcoholism sounds like a more sever effect. A week detox sounds about right for that. The past saves though, that’s got to be a bug.

It says in the description of alcoholism that hair of the dog cures it.

You don’t think there could be different levels of alcoholism? I don’t know, just a thought.

Bahahaha awesome. :joy:

The more I think about it…Effecting past saves like that seam more purposeful than accidental. A little alcohol is good for the sole, a lot can have unavoidable consequences. Kind of a cool feature really.

Serious think that is a cool feature, a feature for a game that wants realism as a main theme?
Like I turn into a addict at a age of 40 and all of a sudden some magic time machine (or some fcking god, depending on your preference) change the actual life you already lived?
Yeah, why not f
ck all when eating to much meat. Because you know, red meat is baááád.
