All hands on deck!

I know about the bug tracking, and I have reported this bug the “proper” way already, but honestly I want to draw as much attention as possible to this bug! The save games will not load for me at all. I save the game, and when I go to reload it, whether it is after a death, or whether it is the next day to continue playing, the result is the same: the game tries to load, but after sitting through about 3-4 loading screenshots, the little circle around the keep, on the lower right, stops spinning and the game is locked up–task manager shows it as “not responding.”

This bug really makes it impossible to play or test content beyond a certain point, based on how long a person can play, because no saves will load, and all I can do is start all over again. Seriously guys, this needs to be top priority–all hands on deck until it is fixed! Otherwise, I am just spinning my wheels playing the first two or three hours of the game over, and over, and over again!

Over time the save game issue becomes worse. Once things start to corrupt, everything is corrupt. It is on their list to fix, and they did manage to fix the battle, which was a pretty big problem, and the arena black screen hang.

There is only 2-3hrs of the game. Apart from talking to everyone and exploring, you have the battle and then pretty much what was in the alpha. There’s nothing else to do. There’s a lot more to do than the alpha, but it’s still very limited content wise.

You can get to the battle in under 20 mins if you speed run it. What ever you think you have spent a lot of time doing, can probably be replicated in a few minutes.

“Speed Run” is a term that is forever stricken from my vocabulary. I play games to have fun, not to score points or see how fast I can rip through it. The save game problem is just the last in a series that has stopped me cold and made me restart, but others include broken quests, especially in Samopesh, where the entire town refused to talk to me in my last attempt, and had to start over in order to do alchemy quest or baliff quests, where the fisherman was just absent altogether–but the lack of a working save game means when ANY of these things happen, it is back to square one. That is why I find it very important–if a quest goes bad, etc., being able to go back a bit is way better than starting over. Fixing the save game should be the number one priority right now.

Sure, the first time. That’s the way most people play. If a game crashes, or you lose power, would you repeat the same 30 mins of dialog, or would you skip through it?

If it was a simple fix, it would be done. It’s part of a bigger problem though. The fact that we can’t fast travel, and can’t skip time at a reasonable speed. We need a simplified method to roughly calculate what NPCs would be doing if we skipped time so it can happen in the background. This would also make the information that needs to be saved considerably smaller.

None of the quests are broken, and all can be completed. Of course there are different issues, including stuck NPCs or not being able to talk to NPCs that prevent any progress.

It sounds like what you’re trying to do is constantly save your “progress” and messing the game up in the process. You’re also putting too much emphasis on exactly what this progress is. It can be accomplished in a few minutes, even if it took you hours to work out how to do it.

I’m sort of disappointed by this state of -b-e-t-a- tech preview, but you’re both right.
It’s faster to start new game than to try to find a way how to fix what’s broken. You can’t (exceptions may exist). Once you can exploit your previous knowledge to find shortcuts, you can skip most of the dialogues in main quest line. Correct approach to Samopše quests is very likely starting all in parallel and making notes which branches can break them. It’s likely fastest approach.
But - it completely removes all joy of play, cause it’s just a brute force trial-error approach and you will know that correct way to talk with fisherman is heart-heart-sword without any idea what are you both talking about.

The end game battle still doesn’t work for me, even though I started fresh after the latest update. And I only loaded a save like 2-3 times before the battle.
And I still get the “you cant sleep or skip time” bug, because I am in battle reportedly although I took out the entire bandit camp on my own and reported back to the soldiers camp… :frowning:
