I’ve just loaded my game and I’ve had a fight where I’ve noticed that none of my hits were connecting with the target. Loaded the save and the same thing happened. Then tried loading a bunch of older saves and still none of my strikes connect with the target. It’s not an issue with the fact that I’m overburden or unskilled with the weapon i use (anther reason why i tried different saves). Prior to today everything worked fine for me in terms of combat. Anyone has a similar issue post patch?
Hi Mac, yes, i had the same issue after updating to 1.2.5 on ps4. I loaded different savegames and in the most of them, the sword causes damage. in the latest savegame it goes through the oponent without striking and without damage. before the update it worked proper. so now the r2-button is fixed, but i can not hit. 
The thing is I’ve even tried earlier saves, going as far back as to “Baptism of Fire” where you can hack on people during the melee…and still nothing.
i also started a new game. and there i can say it workes. so it seems like there is not allways the problem with the sword but only in (some) corrupted non compatible savegames. my latest savegame is after the raid of the small village called neuhof. the mission where i get the first horse.
I had the same thing happen to me a little while ago and I found a fix hopfully it helps you guys too.
Take off all your equipment and weapons etc save the game then close the game down completely . Then load the game back up and then go for a training session with captain Bernard . After the practice fight then equip everything and it should work again like it did for me.

this patch didn´t touch anything near the combat system. This looks like game failed to load some physics. So for the time being try to restart the game without your equipment on(yeah i know that´s little bit cheesy). If that doesn´t help (but i think it will), please send me your save files (email below). This will help to adress the issue.

This happened to me a week ago (before this patch was released), I don’t think it is to do with the latest patch…
However, to fix it all i did was un-equip everything, then re-equip everything and I’ve not had the issue again since.
Thanks for all the replies. Come to think of it I think it happened to me once before a few weeks ago, but I think just loading the save helped. I’m gonna try unequpping everything.
Hi Jan Rucker how do i transfer save files from ps4 to email ? Cause i have no clue
i had this issue way before this patch. closing the game and starting it again solve the problem for me.

You can transfer them via option in setting to USB stick and from there to the email I am sure there is a lot of tutorials on youtube.
Ok cool i kinda thought so. But dear Jan problems is that my son tried the game and he deleted line 1-2 so i am back to scratch but i found some minor issues aex getting arrested twice just after paying the fine to the guards igot attacked straight after i paid fine but i will re collect the saves and then email you as the game go on hope we can find the reasons to the bugs and glitches lovely game btw i freakin love it so keep up the good work

Unfortunately the same thing has just happened to me. I’ve tried the unequiping everything fix but (surprise, surprise…) Captain Bernard has completely disappeared from the game.
I was really enjoying the game but I can’t face starting again. I guess I’ll try coming back to it in a month or so when hopefully this bug has been fixed.
Unequiping everything saving then shutting down game and restart then load works

Didn’t help me but it’s not just that I can’t hit even when trying to skewer someone with a pole arm it’s like like I’m trying to do some maneuver when swinging outside of combat even when I’m unarmed like I’m swinging an invisible weapon
