Alpha bug - Couldn't allocate specular probe texture atlas

Hm i see it the problem after all seems to be that Warhorse didnt talked/highligted minimum requirments enough…DX11 is still growing up,not the absolut latest standard as it seems…and yeah the game is on the other hand for its category(middleage + rpg) a bomb,a big jump, centurys away from most older games

@Warroirhorse,yes you`ll have to upgrade DX is needed due to Cry-engine

But I have DX-11 with the latest drivers according to my system so is this DX-11 or a Graphics card issue?

Maybe take a look on your drivers?!

Do we need 11.2 or is 11.1 good enough? I am on Window 7 not 8. Not sure if I can get 11.2 on Windows 7.
I have 11.1 with the driver updated last night (so can I assume it is the latest). Have they published specific specs yet? The website was vague on what is really required.

I think i still have 11.1 with my GTX 760 and running on Win7,so i think it should work

Hi, these are minimum HW requirement:

• 64bit Windows 7 or higher
• DirectX 11 compatible video card
• 8GB RAM
• 6GB HDD space
• 4 core processor or better

Yeah… it’s only what?.. 19 years old… barely legal and already thinks it owns the world… typical…

Sry cannot relay get it what you mean…i dont think DX11 is 19 years old but if it is a technology of last 2-3 years on Graphics cards, there are other games, restricted in their power/graphics now released/wip atm cause there are small children who own an older pc than top of time

And for me,I’m 20 nearby 21,so far… and why should i think i own the world? I was just my opinion related on the posts by others ,here are enough guys who pledged and got to know they have still dx 9/10 …so alpha wont run ,thats all what i meant

Looks like my Graphics card is the weak link. System compatible but not the card. This is a show-stopper for me sadly. i either get another card or a new system. Neither ideal and not likely in the near future - hard to justify just for a game.

Too bad, I am sorry, man!

Take a look for AMD /700er nvidias, they should get a nice pricedrop in time…and yeah thats sometimes really bad if your system doesnt match requirements and for eg a laptop is upgradeable

My son has also been a supporter but he will be in the Beta. Hoping his laptop runs the game okay.

DirectX started shipping in 1995… been around for some time now…

DX11 first appeared in 2009? (I think…)

It’s time to embrace the change…

@Bill_McConnell: CryEngine can be pretty resource intensive so you’d probably also have to consider heating where laptops are concerned…

Good point indeed about the heat.
I blew two graphics cards on an Acer laptop just playing WOW.

i have it all and even better stuff, i played the game i have pictures of proof and all the sudden i cannot play no more… i can’t stand this bullshit. if i played before it needs to work now. period!!

Dude… Alpha Tech test…

This thing is to a finished game what a potato is to a supernova…

Deep breath… destroy… re-install?

I’ve got the same problem. Seems like I have to buy a new video card.

a lot of reason can make a game not play again , you cold have a worm virus that damage the files it cold be register problem it cold be a driver problem it cold be your virus scanner olso this is a alpha test not a finish game it don’t have to work for you (period) this is the time to find whats wrong with it so when the finish games come that Dan it shall work for you Period!

I wonder if CryEngine allows the use OpenGL driver also on Windows, as it does on Linux/Mac. If it does, it might help those with non-DX11 cards.
