I always play conquest and my ping never goes above 45 which I think is reasonable for this type of game.
Glad to see that this thread stayed on topic
Here I was hoping for more sword fighting discussions⊠anybodyâŠ
I usually get over 100 ping and most servers are no ping limit ones.
Iâm really excited to be able to stab an opponent, have yet to played a game to make it fun.
In the first alpha build I tested out the sword allot and I must say that the stabbing was very satisfying. I want console commands back.
Yea this is going to be awesome⊠assuming stabbing in-game actually translates to penetration *where applicable, as opposed to some kind of âŠweird push move?!
Nothing says satisfying more than some good⊠penetration haha
*ahem⊠anyway I got sidetracked, but seriously; stabbing your opponent and visibly seeing the sword go in and land that killing blow. Then watching them as they slide off the edge of your blade, collapsing to the floor and bleed out. *too much?
No games done this to my knowledge⊠in a realistic sense. Some how capturing the raw nature of a fight, and facilitating all the emotions that go with it.
Check out Star wars episode 3 revenge of the sith the game for the original xbox. Theres one mission where you go into the jedi temple and slaughter the younglings who are around 8 years old. They have their little light sabres and its very fun to run them through with your light sabre. The best is when you hold them in the air witht he force then stab them in the throat with your light sabre
I just found a very interesting comment about combat by Robert Waschka on facebook. Robert Waschka is probably the main person behind choreography of combat in the game. He is a lector of (not only) sword fighting with more than 30 years of experience and he runs a company called âHouse of knightly virtuesâ which provides lectures of sword fighting, european martial arts, archery and many more. Here is a photo of him and his coleague doing mo-cap in Warhorse Studios (posing as a christmas tree )
And here is the comment: âAt least for the team of choreographs and performers of sword fighting who did a mo-cap, I have to say that designers wanted maximal authenticity of moves, including getting out of breath and inaccuracies (yes a real fighter really doesnât cut always exactly the same). I hope I donât spoil too much, there will be actions with exclusive logic against an armor and vice versa.â
Awesome.
Thatâs mad.
How can you fight when youâre âblinded by the light!â (and it accidently rhymes)
