Animal AI / Hunting - fucking nightmare

The Problem is: There is no AI…

You can pump a handfull Arrows in every animal…if it surives the first shot it doesent move…there is no reaction…

But i know…its not a bug…its a feature…

I havent seen that yet but if you are hunting boars then it makes sense

Another consumer here not satisfied with the AI, i mean if everyone here is so ready to embrace “realism” then the AI needs some serious tweaking. Last time i went bow hunting, (real…bow hunting) the buck i shot had to be tracked through the woods, but it most definitely took off after that arrow made contact.

Agreed on this front. You can shoot near the animal and they won’t notice. You can hit the animal and may not even realize it because there is no feedback via animation. Three arrows later and the buck falls. But never does he run or otherwise react. You can walk right up to hares and other game, get into close shooting range, and fire 10 arrows into the dirt next to it. They only flee if you walk nearly on top of them and that’s if you aren’t super stealthy.

TBH I like the fact they don’t move With no perks to Archery and no way of knowing how well your aim is without shooting I am very glad they don’t move.

Well I can agree with that sentiment ,too! Sure helps with hitting them. Although I’m a peon who turns the cursor back on when the bow is out (PC console command).

During one of the early quests where you practice your archery by hunting rabbits I noticed a buck and sneaked up on it and shot it, 6 arrows later it was still standing there with all arrows sticking out of it. had to stop shooting as I only had one arrow left at that point and had to save it for the rabbits so I could complete the actual quest. Felt kinda silly.
