Animals not realistic

I shouldn’t be able to kill a deer with a sword. It shouldn’t just stand there and let me kill it, it needs to run away.

Lol when I was shooting a deer from a distance it just continued eating grass till I killed it, however if I moved closer it would startle it.

Yeah animals need work, it’s to easy to hunt and easy to make money off it. The money part I have no prob with, but I should have to work for it.

So it was impossible to me to kill any animal with the sword, they did never got stucked or stop running if I was close. It seemed realistic to me though

Some animals. Young deer and rabbits act fine. I’ve just seen the one stag that was strange. Boars work fine also.

Oh, didnt see any stag or boars yet lol.
Only the boar that almost kill the cunt capon.

How do you hunt animals and it not be considered “Poaching” .

Everytime I kill an animal when I loot it, it says I’m stealing.

I think there is a quest from what I read somewhere. I haven’t done it yet. The boars you meet on the road while fast traveling you’re able to sell anywhere I believe and it’s not considered stolen.

So… You have to do a quest to hunt animals?

I can literally run out into the forest kill a rabbit in no mans land and when I loot it says I’m “stealing”.

I been looking through the codex to try and find mechanics and rules regarding hunting and “poaching” but mentions nothing.

I believe someone said you get a licsence, but I could be wrong. Really not sure yet. Haven’t done much story line ~ any lol. Though I have 40 hours in

You can still sell the poached meat to millers though

I’ve done enough of the main quest where Hans and I are good buddies but that’s it… Lol.

I just want to hunt a little bit but I can’t cus the shit is stealing and I need to figure out how to legit hunt.

If a guard ever searches you then you are screwed…

I beat up to many people in fist fights in Rattay and looted their unconscious bodies so now the guards there don’t trust me and search me all the damn time.

I noticed this as well, and looked around in the game’s .pak files but can’t really find anything that would change the AI parameters for the wildlife. I don’t know if their AI is done via one of their LUA scripts, or tweaking params via one of their XML files.
Does anyone know if Warhorse has a PoC for modding discussion? I’d imagine something like this can be done with modding, but I’m pretty sure we’d need some tools to help create a .pak or something.

you can cook the meat over a fire (pots standing around everywhere) after cooking its no longer stolen and you can eat/sell it.

Once you cook it in a cauldron p.e. is not robbed mercancy anymore.

After the hunting quest with Hans for the first time I’m disappointed with the game. Hares don’t react at all when an arrow hits a few inches next to them, deer doesn’t flee when hit by arrows at all. Boars don’t make any sound and their animations look as if they were out of some Atari game from the 80s…
Also the low-res textures of the forest ground and trees are below PS3 level. Even normal PS4 is capable of sharper textures in a forest environment. Just have a look at Far Cry Primal. Textures in villages look ok, though.

Yes. There is quest where you can obtain “license to kill” I believe.

yea, at beginning practically unloaded a whole quiver around a bull elk. shot. arrow narrowly missed. bull looked up. walked about 5-10m. ate. rinse repeat. till bled to death or instant kill. if realism is the goal of KCD, this needs changing

boar attacks are too mild.

It’s a shame they polished the cities so much but left the wildlife on a level from the Super Nintendo Area.
Also there should be Dual-Shock implementation on PS4.
