Hello, may I say I am looking forward for the Kingdom Come: Deliverance. It is so far looking like a solid game, even far from finished. Take good time and make it good.
Now onto my topic: I noticed during the livestream on YouTube that the character movement animations in first-person, the body of the character turns depending on if you walk/run forward, 45 degrees left/right or backwards and 45 degrees strafe. This is a general concern of mine since several games where this is implemented (Skyrim, Sniper Elite V2) moving and quickly shifting directions creates a very strange body turning fuckup, in my opinion.
What I am suggesting for this issue is a center body animation. The characters body doesn’t turn when you move forward to 45 degrees, but you instead start moving 45 degrees with your feet. So no matter which direction you are moving, the body stays straight ahead.
Now onto the other topic I wish to discuss:
Combat depth: You’ve said that in the combat so far there is an attack, block for every attack, tapping the block key at an opportune time deflects a strike and from there you can counter.
Will there be more in-depth tactics available at launch such at dodging, dodge and counters, breaking blocks, grabs and such? My fear is that it will be a sort of Assassin’s Creed style play where you just tap the block key to counter any attack and do that every time, essentially loosing all purpose of melee combat.
Thanks for reading.
