don’t worry about it.
There are areas where I do shake my head. (but since they are not gun related they are sort of off topic. but do naturally effect things like crime rates. Better safety = less crime)
The “stand your ground laws” do not make much sense for me… but I do believe that only exist in some states?
At is core I think US citizens distrust the government and prefer at system where they have the legal right solve problems them self. Or the freedom to do so…
And since the US was founded by fighting a war against the king it is natural that there is this distrust.
This also explain the “right to bear arms” debate. This idea is logical in the US.
But would make very little sense here i Denmark.
Here in Denmark the King gave the people a Constitution. And by early 20th century we had universal suffrage and the social democrats in power. And that resulted in our welfare state. The fact that I don’t have to worry about a lot of things that an (poor) US citizen have to… give me freedom to live my life as I want.
So two rather different ideas about freedom.
well, back to guns.
I like the fact that I live in a place where that is the case. And in the perfect world that was the face for everyone ells…
But if I lived in Detroit I would like to be able to carry a gun also.
So I basically think it is a rather hard question. Banning all guns in the US would only make things worse.
(and very likely be unconstitutional) But I don’t think more guns is the solution.
