Anything on Health System?

I’ve done some pretty extensive forum searching and haven’t found any concrete evidence from devs about the Health system. If anyone has found out something about how it works, or maybe I overlooked something please tell me!

EDIT: I know about the combat system, as I was more leaning to Health regeneration. I’ve already looked at about 4 threads or so with the topic, but haven’t found any devs speaking on the matter.

What are you looking to find out specifically?

Have you not tested the combat in the alpha?

The health system in KCD is interlinked with the protagonists available stamina. You take a hit in combat, not only do your overall life points diminish, but so to resultantly does your available stamina. Stamina is utilised for both attacking and defending in melee combat. Therefore the more damage you take, the less total stamina you have to be able to perform blocks / counters / attacking strikes etc.

Obviously there will be defensive benefits and buffs afforded to the player by various armours, and protective layers (potentially some potions or concoctions as well). None of which will make you invulnerable, however they will protect your health and stamina from forms of melee and ranged attacks.

The proficiency of these armour types will vary, for example; full plate will offer great protection against sword based attacks. However it will not prevent you from being damaged from any bludgeoning type melee attacks, reliant on sheer blunt force trauma.

Anyway, hopefully that gives you a little bit of an idea of how the health and stamina system ties in with KCD’s game mechanics. I’m sure others will have more to add

Well I have tested out the Alpha a bit, but I only get about 10 fps so I rarely do play it. I was mostly curious about health regeneration and how that is going to work…

At this stage, I’m pretty certain health wont auto-regenerate. From what we’ve been told to date (which isn’t much specifically about this topic) I’d assume that it will require some action on the players part in order to kickstart that healing process; either in the form of a healing salve or potion, some type of medical care (bandage / stitching), and of course rest. Depending on the severity of the damage you take, then I would also presume that the longer time it takes for you to get back to 100% health.

I don’t believe we’ll be able to simply take a magic health potion on the brink of death and be back to fighting fit.

Currently there is a potion that can be made for health regeneration, but its my understanding that it may be for the alpha only (due to being unrealistic).

As far as I know the Dev team has yet to explain in detail how health regeneration will be handled.

I assume it will be tied with sleeping and eating mechanics.
