I decided to practice archery and found about the archery contests.
There are 3 simple rules one of which is to not leave before the contest is finished.
So I started the first contest, me and two other opponents. I shot my arrows one of the other contestants shot his, but the third one stays at 7 arrows and does absolutely nothing. The only way to end the contest is if I move and lose the money I’ve bet. I tried two times same result.

I had this happen i “won” and noticed one of the archers never fired any arrows however his target had an arrow stuck in it. So I assume the other npc missed his target and the arrow hit the other (stuck) npcs target. Only way to continue was to hit wait and advance time for 1 hour.

Having this happen to me too, more often than not.
Noticed that as well, in Uzice when trying to contest against 2 other people (medium level with 14 arrows). One shot arrows, the other (a townwoman, dont know if that matters) talk to me the whole contest, asking me to unequip my bow… 
The bug is already reported few days ago… they know it.
Yep, just encountered the same bug myself. I got through a couple matches in Uzhitz, then three or four in a row had someone just standing there so it can’t be won.
I’ve also had this issue, I found out if you walk up to the targets and pull out any arrows before starting the contest, it doesn’t bug
So, pull arrows after completing each one? I’ll have to try that.
