It would actually kind of be neat if you were so hated in the first city that they had put a bounty on your head.

Not a bug. The Skalitz refugees would have reported your crimes from Skalitz.

Racial profiling in KCD? LOL…everyone in the game is Caucasian, regardless of whether it is Henry or the Cumans.

Maybe the Rattay guards arrested you because the Skalitz refugees move there after the invasion, so the guards consider them as citizens of Rattay.

it totally is a bug.
in this particular scenario it makes sense that he got arrested in Rattay but that is totally coincidental.
whenever i get arrested its always for “carrying a dead body around” or “assaulting livestock”
In KCD you never get arrested for murder, they always accuse your of carrying dead bodies around eve if they see you kill someone right in front of them so i think if you kill a civilian or a guard and someone sees then you become wanted. The game can also bug out and you can become wanted for committing crimes when there were no witnesses.

Assaulting livestock basically means punching anything bigger than a chicken INCLUDING YOUR OWN FUCKING HORSE. Now im not going to get into the ethics of caring for your pets/animals but if i get stuck in a grave and cant get out without mounting my horse while standing in the grave and the only wway to get the stupid fucking animal to turn around so i can mount it is to punch it then I SHOULD NOT END UP IN JAIL! especially if there is no one around and i end up wanted in a town literally on the other side of the map. Seriously, i have punched my horse in Pribyslavitz and ended up wanted in Ledetchko!

sorry if you read that before, its a copy paste of a reply i left on a similar thread

@nopinkcreations: In KCD you definitely do get arrested for murder, it’s happened to me a handful of times in various places. Usually when one of my night-time ninja rampages goes wrong, they will surround me and I surrender. Every single time they accuse me of being a “thieving, murdering swine” (or similar words), which is true. I have also been arrested for beating livestock and carrying bodies, rarely. I have also noted that you can pay off a guard if you’re only on the hook for theft, but for murder it’s either jail or run.

So far I’ve never been arrested for something I didnt do, or for a crime in a different city. I do hate it when you somehow end up wanted even if you kill all witnesses including the victim. Probably you are suspected for some reasons and the guards decide that is enough to judge you guilty, regardless of the lack of witnesses/proof. Skyrim has this same maddening bug, where someone can be a witness to their own murder even with noone around, but it somehow gets reported.

haha, i have killed wayfarers on the road with no one else in sight and become wanted

I really don‘t think that this is a bug.
I would have two possible explanations for this:

  1. The refugees, who earlier were the common people (like traders and normal citizens), might have reported your crimes as soon as they arrived in Rattay.

OR (what I personally think is more likely)

  1. The guards from Skalitz remember you and might have even reported you. It really becomes plausible, when you start thinking about it, because some of the guards who were originally placed in Skalitz later become guards in Rattay or at least guards near Radzig Kobyla maybe to protect him or to support the guards of Rattay.
You can even proof this by taking a look at the names of some of the guards, for example Janek or Yanek (or however he is spelled). Janek is one of the two guards you meet in front of the castle in Skalitz when you pickup the crossguard for your father. He is later also placed in front of the lower castle of Rattay, I don’t know if he is always the guy talking to you, when you try to go to Sir Radzig after you have arrived at Rattay, but in my case he was. You can also notice that some of the guards in front of the lower castle of Rattay wear the waffenrock with the Skalitz’ emblems.

Furthermore I have never been arrested for crimes in the wrong village. I have played the game through two times and in one play through I have committed many crimes in Uzhitze and have never been arrested in the wrong town.

Well maybe they got special events everywhere and so they found you in another town

happened to me again today. randomly became wanted in Rattay for murder even though i had not murdered anyone in 50+ real time hours

Hit anyone by horse? Seen looting a corpse?

Did you get reported by the « ruffian » during a random encounter involving a murder?

no to both of those
i did hit people in Rattay with a horse but only in rage AFTER i got out of jail. Normally when you kill someone by running into them with a horse you notice. Screaming, wanted, guards etc so i am very careful when riding in towns and avoid bumping into people.
have not had a ruffian encounter in ages, always kill the degenerate serial rapist anyways

I was caught pickpocketing and I was accused of injuring someone in Sasau.

Hopefully someone makes a mod that revamps the crime system. So you dont become wanted for a crime in which noone saw you kill, assault, lockpick, steal, pickpocket, etc. That’s just fucking dumb. Perhaps maybe if you were seen leaving the area, but put a timer and distance range on that shit. I’m also tired of telepathic/psychic guards who “just know” you did something or have stolen goods even though they see nothing. And sometimes, they suddenly appear out of nowhere when you are committing a crime or someone screams. To my knowledge teleportation hasnt been invented and didnt exist in 1403.

I’m pretty sure it isnt a crime to run into ppl on a horse. I run roughshod over villagers, traders, commoners, guards, whoever happens to be in my path. Never been arrested for it. The game treats it the the same as if you had bumped into them on foot. Dont tell me they changed something with 1.8.2 hotfix patch.
