Overall I’m really impressed with the game and I really love the armour system! But I have a few nitpicky suggestions that won’t really have any meaningful gameplay effects but would improve immersion.
-
Fix longer gambesons/clothes to not get tucked under plate chausses (the ones that occupy both leg armour and shoes slot). They should simply layer over the chausses.
-
Have the option to put helmet aventails over all armour layers. Head chainmails should still be tucked, but aventails are attached to helmets and would look nicer/more accurate over armour.
-
Separate arm armour slot into forearm and shoulder slots. This would allow more flexibility in armour customisation such as being able to just equip a mail armguard or equip both cuman vambraces and lamellar pauldrons. Of course some armour would occupy both slots like how mail chausses occupy the shoes and leg armour slots.
-
The option of putting hoods up would also be nice.
-
More armour variations would also be nice, but I am already impressed with the array of historical armours depicted in KC:D.
-
This would be hard, but adding more visual battle damage effects e.g. armour or weapons getting destroyed or weakened (not just stats wise) from repeated damage in the same area would be amazing. You can chop shields, open weak points in armour that wouldn’t go away until repaired, and break weapons.
Thank you WH for making this amazing game! I believe these changes could make it even better, at least for me.
