The both mentioned historical locations featured in the game are Sázava which was build along a monastery and Rataje nad Sázavou.
Because of the setting and time period there is another location that has to be included in the story. Before the game setting one of the first massive stone castles in the area was build (wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Český_Šternberk_Castle)
The locations are all along the Sázava River.
There is some history on this location on page 744 in this free book (Die Markgrafschaft Mähren: Bd. Olmützer Kreis, Gregor Wolny,1839). Thanks google and Princeton.
The text goes as follows:
The History of Sternberg (german spelling) began in 1242 when Jaroslaw von Sternberg began building the Castle Sternberg. (1247 it was finished).
He constructed a City below the Castle. The City grew slowly suggests the author because it took till 1294 before some church stuff was installed. 1376 a church guy helped constructing defenses for the town. It was a town by then.
In 1409 the inhabitants became free people and some other locations were conquered.
The text manages beer as an “Erfordernis” which means requirement in english. They clearly produced it in Sternberg and forced towns to buy it from them.
In 1430 there was a 8 weeks siege by Taborites. Then non good katholics (Hussites) captured and owned the city for two years and pillaged surrundings.
Then some allied Cities got it back as the main Hussite force was absent.
Other things about this locations may include Templars (extinct in story setting, but there may be hints) and Tatars.
