If you level up as much as possible in the tutorial it may be possible to beat Runt.
I tried and got quite a few hits in on him, though he only needs 3 on you.
At the end he looked really beat up and was very close to dying, but I couldn’t beat him.
So I wanted to ask if he’s scripted to not die or if you can actually win, and what happens if you do win if it is possible.
You have to hit his head, and only his head. He’s extremely tough and is more an end-game boss rather than half-way through, however we were told that he was meant to be hard to beat. Most people go around this by putting an arrow between his eyes.
As for what happens when you beat him, there is a cutscene.

You bash his face in relentlessly against the wood floor while he laughs and chokes on his own blood.
I mean in the tutorial, at the end of it he comes and hits you in the head with an oversized baseball bat.
I meant to ask whether it’s possible to beat him there, because I seemed to get VERY close to doing so but I didn’t succeed.
I ask because you can actually kill a lot of people that are supposed to “definitely” beat you.
You can’t kill him.
I tried with me being immortal to see what happens.
I got him down a hair above nothing and still could not take him down. It was a around a 15 min. fight.
He is a necessary NPC and must be in the mainline quest so no provision seems to be made for an early demise.
I could not also kill the rat that squealed on me to Runt. Got him zero but no death. Another must have NPC
