For anyone looking to spar with Captain Bernard the Balif of Rattay be warned. If you ask to use real weapons he’ll tell you you’re cocky. Then go on to say he thinks you’ll never learn as much with a fake sword as you will a real one. Then he warns you that if you’re hurt your not to come crying to him, failing to defend yourself is on you and you alone and you must deal with the consequences yourself. I promptly beat him in single combat. He then arrested me claiming I can’t just go around hurting people. Bernard is a whining baby hypocrite, don’t fight him.
