Beta Performance Thread

Good point, forgot about the single core thing. The Arma community was outraged.

MY rig:
980 ti 6g ram
G-Sync monitor
i5 4690k 3.5ghz
16gb ram

Very high settings:
25-35 fps

Regardless of Low settings or Very high settings, i always run between 23-33 FPS

GTX 980ti
1920x1080
i7 4770 4.0ghz
16 gb ram

You and I have similar rig. I just tested on low settings and I still avg around the same FPS rangeā€¦ What is surprising is that you have a better CPU. I thought the bottleneck was in CPU, but it turns out that the game is just not well optimized in general.

Hello,

Win7 64bit
i72600k @4.4Ghz
16Gb RAM
SSD drive
GTX 980 (stock) overclocked

I get around 25 FPS, no matter if 2560x1440 or 1980x1080 resolution. No matter if very high or low quality. The FPS gains/ losses are about 5 fps. My CPU gets a max usage of 65% and RAM gets used to around 6GB.
I also disabled all background processes.

This game still needs alot of work.

Best Regards

i7 6700k, 4.7Ghz overclocked
ram 16G DDR4
GTX980 SLI
Asus maximus hero 8
Win 10 64 bit
game is installed in HDD

2560 1440, 30~40 fps, at any setting
1920 1080, 30~40 fps, at any setting
1600 1024 40~50 fps, at any setting

Intel i5 4670K
Nvidia Geforce GTX 770 2GB
8GB DDR3 1333
256GB Samsung 840 Pro

Everything on low, motion blur off, 1080p.
Getting 30-40fps, mostly 30. Dipping under 30 a lot.

Yes 16 GB of ram sounds stupid. I play on low get 30 fps minor lags from time to time but absolutely playable on 1080p.
My spec.:
GTX 970
intel i5 4690k
ram 8 GB (1333 GHz)
everything stock clock.
Just came here to see if this 16 GB is legit but seeing all these decent PC specs it seems so. I still think itā€™s too much. Could my lack of ram be the reason why I crash so often?

First of all what I like in beta that it is not early access in Steam. This what has been done right. Unfortunately everything else not on the high level even if counts that this is beta access

Highlights of my critic review of beta access

Engine (Notebook performance)
-Crytech same as Witcher 3 engine with all of cons of that engine
-abonded support for older architectures Nvidia: mobile Femi, Kepler (no matter what settings are, not more than 10fps), Entire level Nvidia new architure mobile Maxwell starts from 830m and 940m (show no less 25 fps no matter what settings are)
-engine does not use CPU on full capacity. I have CPU i5-3210M 2.5-3.1 Ghz with 630M (1gb gddr5) 7-10 fps vs i5 4200U 1.6-2.3 Ghz. with (840M 2gb drr3) - 25-30 fps
-64bit memory access does not utilize all memory (usage not more than 2gb)
-engine does not support or does not include middle level or low level textures (so no matter what settings (low, middle, high), you are looking at the maxmium quality textures)
-physics are not existed compare with older gothics game engines(gothic 1-3). You have no real impact on environment.

Sound and voice
-Horrible english voice with british accent which makes no sense, this is just simply cheap!
-voice acting is horrible (easy that actual game developers give voices to the game than so call ā€œprofessional actorsā€)

-soundtrack is just as horrible as voices and voice acting
-environmental sound is none existent

PS. In final words I want to say only one maybe it is beta and you can excuse hardware or bad sound and soundtrack but surely if you will count how much this game took on kickstater (2 million USD ) then you can say this is unacceptable. But most of all what I can not excuse soulless of the game, I can not catch myself on anything which could take me to this game to play, and this is something more important than graphics engine or soundtrackā€¦

I get mostly stable 30+ fps (which is way to low but still playable) with occassional stutters, framedrops and freezes when using a mix of medium/high settings. Fullscreen, Vsync off.

At all graphics settings, FPS is 20-30. Ironically, I get better FPS on maxed out settings than I do on low.

texture loading is SLLLOOOWWW. Starting up the main menu and you can see the castle textures load in. Loading a save game requries you to stand still so all the textures and effects can activate over the course of 5-8 seconds. If you move before, youā€™re liable to crash.

The first think that they should do is optimalisation, so game is playable. I am not expert in those PC things but my pc runs games very good , 40-60 FPS , and hereā€¦ low details , 900*600 (something like that) and I got 15-20 FPS , is there at least some tip for options that will make game run better?

Same for me on the start up menu - super-slow textrues and first couple of mnites of gameplay. Also every time I get out of inventory I can see textrures slowly appearing again in the world around me.

When I click continue game it just goes into an infinite loading loop.

Is v-sync on or off? There is no options for that. It feels like V-sync is activated right now. I have GTX 980 4 gb and it has a very bad flow. Between 25-40 fps.

I have 16GB of ram and Iā€™m constantly crashing. The game does use a lot of memory though (over 4GB by its self and my overall system usage while playing is over 9GB).

Its on.
You can turn it off by bringing up the console (Pressing the ` key) and typing ā€œr_vsync 0ā€

My PC:

CPU FX-8300
MB MSI 970 Gaming
RAM 16 GB
GPU Radeon R9 390 8GB
Win 10

1920x1080
High details

Game is stable (only one crash after loading the game in the middle of Merhojed camp).
FPS are around 25-30 but everything runs smoothly without major lags, maybe small lags occurs during fights in arena, but nothing critical.

In comparision with alpha 0.5, it runs with lower FPS but interestlingly more smoothly. Especially when graphics is much better (weather, water etc. Maybe it is due to the fixed bug for Crimson drivers? Donā€™t know, but I am wery pleased and exciting for further final game optimization :slightly_smiling:

Ok thanks  That will probably make the performance better

Its unlikely. Especially if your FPS is already lower than the refresh rate of your monitor.
Canā€™t hurt to try though.
