Better performance

system: i7 7700k
1080ti FE
16gb ddr4
256gb samsung ssd
so after update 1.3 ive seen an increase of up to 20 fps all around. ive also seen an improvement in antialiasing and texture streaming(though not all gone).
i find it looks smoother to but not sure :stuck_out_tongue:
i would say that is pretty decent.
still need more work but they know

Great, can’t wait for this patch to release on the PS4.

keep in mind that the ps4 is alot less powerfull than my system. so you might not get as much.

Also it is making improvements on systems that work- but if you console users wont do the bare minimum in maintenance; you will be back to whinge (post patch), when your systems still perform horribly worse than countless others.

Aspects of texture streaming the devs can control and tweak; buts lets face it- a lot of complainers have issues with aspects of the game that many other consoles users do no.

I have written out steps on how to make your console games better (numerous times), but you keep taking the attitude that it is for the devs to fix.

Maybe ‘a little from column a, a little from column b’; not wanting to fix your own issues and playing victim cards might suit certain aspects of personality (empowered whingers), but it wont make you happy.
A little self effort might, but you deny helping yourself out of some false entitlement that consoles should just work
(even if the users dont know how to maintain them) is highly unrealistic.

Defragment your game.

I’m just hoping that it returns the draw distance to what it was on PS4 prior to patch 1.03.

Whitedragem your constant chanting of “defragment, defragment, defragment” is getting old. Unlike PC users we can’t mod our game so we are at the mercy of developers when it comes to graphical changes. If a particular patch causes a graphical issue that was not present previously and this correlation can be repeated by testing the game before and after said patch, the causation is obvious. Or are you suggesting that the patch somehow fragments the game files? The previous patches didn’t have this effect so that’s doubtful.

I even have a friend with a new PS4 Pro who installed KCD as his first and only game who has experienced exactly the same thing after updating to the latest version. Since he has only one game installed it wasn’t too much hassle to try your ‘fix’. It did nothing to change the pop-in after the 1.03 patch. The pop-in doesn’t bother him that much though so he’s still playing the game.

The reason that not everyone is complaining about this is the same reason that not everyone complains about the myriad other issues/bugs this game has. If you don’t realise that people have different priorities/preferences when it comes to gameplay and graphics then you’re far more ignorant than these so called ‘whingers’ you purport to educate.

unlike pc users you expect magic from a cardbox.

You do realise that only the first sentence of that post was aimed at you? The rest was directed at Whitedragem, I probably should have posted it as a reply to him, my mistake.

I don’t understand why you’d be perfectly reasonable with your previous post, then say some PC elitist nonsense like “unlike pc users you expect magic from a cardbox.”

So expecting the game to perform on the PS4 PRo the same way as it did with the day one patch is expecting magic? I suppose all the PC users who are complaining about the myriad other issues this game has are also expecting magic?

I haven’t noticed any improvement in object pop-ins e.g npcs, baskets etc.
Haven’t had any major problems with LOD pop-ins since launch. Sure certain spots on roads and wagons have had some LOD pop-in, but object pop-ins is the bigger issue between the two.

Shadows on Very High+ increases the draw distance on certain objects. At least it did in 1.2.5.

well cant help it
 i find it funny

His toxicity towards console owners probably stems from the anger at spending a small fortune on his mediocre setup and still getting piss poor performance out of it on said game for the price.[ <<<<< i find that funny] They are a toxic bunch, always have been.

Actaully I am vey aware if the differences people are experiencing; hence why I have explained TO SOME people why a defragment will assist SOME USERS.

you might have noticed yhat by my stating that thisnfix is only likley for those sufferimg the worst.

(It their instances a defragment will make a big difference)

User habits and maintenance play a guge part in why we have such disparities with a game over same hardware.

Prepatch and post patch fragmentatuon is a real thing for some users.
My trying to help people doesnt have to be your concern.
Trying to block me -I am not sure your motivation?

My specifically calling people entitled whingers if they refuse tobhelp themselves in the vasis that someone should do it for them is pretty spot on

We have to take responsibility in life for things in our control.

Lietenant; you make these threads all flamey when you try to infer that we are all attacking each other. I take task with a few. If that isnt you- then fine
 keep on keeping on.

My continued mention of defragment (about six posts over about four days), isnt the nightmare you make it out to be- it is a solution for some and something many users could do to make a noticable system improvement. The only cost really being some time; which being gamers, maybe theybhave some up their sleeves.

For the record; taking view that pc gamers are all lumped together - you seem like the sort who argues that pc gaming is high cost with constant upgrades.
It isnt- it is one or the other for many
either they spend serious money on an enthusiast pc, or they spend about the cost of a console every three-five years.

Most people can justify that when it can be such a great hobby, educative, multipurpose, and ultimately way cheaper (factoring no annual network subscriptions, and lower cost for games).

PCs havent needed upgrading for many years due to the vast underperformance of consoles (the main players making their last consoles to be like five yearbold modrange PCs).

My three-four year old pc runs rings around an xbox x.
Cost me less than $800 US. It will continue to runrings around an xbox x for awhile. All whilst playing a whole diverse range of games; for me, typically served up through humble bundle.

And sure- I play in the lounge room, the theatre and the bedroom over plasma/projector and a 21:9 monitor. All in surround. With all games on ultra settings. With an xbox or ps4 controller (or razer hydra, or logitech g27) etc.

I dont pick on peoples’ platforms.
I do stand by microsoft being the worst thing in the industry. And a defragment will help anyone whos drive is fragged (consoles not having a way to defragment themselves). The method Igave to force that will alsonhelp anyone installing large games ontonfragmented drives, or patching games on unfragmented drives.
How much ot helps depends on how much their drive is hindered.
For me? Not so much- my console was upgraded to a faster 7200rpm drive and I know how to maintain it! (Most dont)

Why are you lecturing me about the merits of PC gaming? You’re making a lot of assumptions about my stance on gaming and you’re just wrong.

I have a gaming PC, not top of the range but it has a 1080 and Core i5 8600K. I only use it for playing strategy games though, every other genre I play on console. That’s my preference and I have no bias against either platform.

What does annoy me is when someone like Funkyslurch uses a persons choice of platform as a way to disparage them, as if he is somehow superior because he games on a PC. Making statements like “unlike pc users you expect magic from a cardbox.” and “well cant help it
i find it funny” directed at console users who are having technical issues epitomises a PC elitist.

Both console and PC users are having technical issues with the game, we’re all in this together trying to enjoy the game as best we can while avoiding bugs that detract from that.
