I’ve been having a really hard time finding any good books to read in real life that focus on the period of history and area this game is set in. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could point me towards something? I’d love to learn more about the history portrayed in this game.
“Name of the Rose” from Umberto Eco, Sapkovsky’s hussite trilogy called “Narrentum”, “God’s Warriors” and “Lux Perpetua”, “The Knights of the Cross” from Polish author Henryk Sienkiewiczs. There are countless others, for sure.

the game will tell you all about the history and the important characters and how people lived there live in the codex so its better to get the knowledge from the game rather than some other books if you like the game that is.
the thing is they choose there time and place really carefully its a time and place where most people dont know about as so much else was going on during that time that this events slipped threw most people who likes history so the game is perfect place to learn about it

I will definitely check these out they look pretty good, especially the Sapkowski ones. I was hoping for some non fiction finds though lol. But this will partially work.
