Broken quest Bird in hand

This is a long shot but i am hoping some one can help.

I did the bird in the hand quest and continued playing. After some time the game crashed and I lost a lot money and items I could sell.

I have a save point where all I have to do is give the hunstman the birds, the dialogue starts okay and I get the arrows and money, but then the game just stops, the characters are visible as is the background noise but nothing else happens, I cant skip the cut scene either, I have to exit the game.

I do not want to go further back because their are many achievements and hours of game play I will lose. If I delete the save I had-Post the bird in hand quest-Will that resolve it? I am hesitant to do this as I lost about 1000 in money and items when the game crashed.

Well, here is a congrats for even making it that far. It seems a lot of us have lost the bird cage that gets set in a certain area.

Hi Biffle,
You may have tried this already, I placed the cage as close to the tree, where the bird is, as I could then waited an hour,the bird appeared to then be trapped, I did this with each bird as opposed to laying all three traps in one go. It takes longer but it worked for me.

I had this exact bug, the fix was this, go back to a save BEFORE you capture the last bird. Then after you capture the last bird DO NOT save, then hopefully the dialogue with the Huntsman will work, it did for me.

I placed one trap at a time in different areas. There is another post about the missing cage bug and the original poster even provided a map of where he lost his cage. The exact same areas I did.

Thanks for the responses.
The problem is not with the cages its the narrative with the hunstman that’s the issue. I did the quest without any issues but after a while the game crashed causing me to lose items. Reloading a save point takes me to the point where all I have to do is give the birds to the huntsman, that is where the game freezes, during the narration.

Yes you have to go back to a save point BEFORE you catch your last bird. Then you need to catch the last bird and turn in the quest before you sleep or do another save. That worked for me.

This was fixed for me with 1.3. I had progressed the main storyline a bit so that the GAME saved itself vs. me having a savior schnapps save.

Still happening No version fixed this… Everyone is saying rreload, catch last bird, then go speak with the huntsman… No no no… We can save when we want… whether we’re in the middle of a quest or not… They just need to fix it. Apparently it’s happening with alot of quests, its a reload game issue, not just this quest…

Version 1.5 oh fantastic! It fixed it. No need to load a previous save only to have to go through the whole process again. Went to the huntsman and the dialogue worked, delighted.
This is probably the first game I have ever played where the developers are actively resolving the issues reported, well done to them.
