(BUG?) Closing the game causes strange color and gamma issues for me

Hi guys.

This is one of the weirdest issues I’ve ever had with a game.
After i close KCD my screen remains too bright and something gets messed up with the gamma or brightness. Not just on my computer screen but also on the TV connected to the computer. Everything becomes too bright and lacks contrast and the darker tones have artifacts and bad color transitions.
I cant figure out how to fix this and the only solution i have is a complete restart of my computer. This fixes the issue only until the next time i run KCD and exits the game, which , again, brings back the issue.
Sadly my PC is a little old and rusty with HDD and restarting takes about 8 to 10 minutes. i really dont want to restart my PC 5 times a day just to fix the problem exiting KCD gives me…

Any advice?!?

I think I’m seeing similar. I have discovered a workaround for me that works at least to restore my desktop colors. I launch the NVIDIA Control Panel, go to “Adjust Desktop Color Settings,” and then change a setting here. It doesn’t seem to matter which setting, but I usually just change it from “Other applications control color settings” to “Use NVIDIA settings.” This fixes everything back to normal for me but only until I give the game focus again. Then it messes everything up again. I think this might have started with 1.2.5, too. So I have found no way to fix this for my actual gameplay, unfortunately. But at least I can get things back to normal for watching videos, playing other games, etc.

but for me it somehow got better… will try the nvidia settings

I also just had the sense to try restarting my computer. That worked, thankfully. All better.
