I have never participated in an alpha before (besides dayz) and I was wondering if somebody would be able to tell me how to write (or even better, give an example of) a good bug report. I know the alpha is to help with the development of the game and I want to the best job I can for the devs.
I’m guessing the platform for reporting bugs will be presented when alpha is released. Other games have had a sub-section in the forums dedicated for bug reporting and discussions about fixes and work-arounds.
some use ticket systems, helps categorizing and spotting duplicates etc.
Depends a bit on how they want to organize feedback on their side.
When you find a bug, search for it on whatever reporting system they have. If you find it’s been reported already, reply to that thread instead of starting your own, in order to give the devs an idea of how prevalent the bug is.
The devs may ask questions, and will probably need your dxdiag information and other things of that nature. Be sure to follow any and all instructions in order to help them sort the problem out. Be specific, and, if applicable, try to replicate the issue in the meantime.
I think, ingame report console or something like this could be great. It is much confortable, than go to forum, searching right topic and then writing bug report.
Depends on the issue. If it doesn’t produce an error, there’s no error log to submit.
