Bug with the new Haircut Menu

Except the bug IS fixed for most of people.

There MIGHT be a possibility that there are various sources of the same behavior. In that case, be so kind and post as many details as possible.

Yeah how crazy is a world where smear campaigns for games is a thing…

Had to give comment woth the +1 cause I agreed with what you were saying EXCEPT I wouldnt want to outright slander Diablo 2.
The closest I get to complaining about Diablo games is the lowering of game resolution that part 2 gave (640x480; albeit higher colour range)(yes expansion fixed it to gove 800x600, but On launch it still felt pretty backwards). Diablo 3 requiring online seemed wrong. (WoW was their online product). Death of mice.

I spent years playing Diablo II, but it does not mean it helped RPG genre to progress. What followed (Wow) is actually very bad for the RPG genre.

I will confess not to liking but loving ‘the game’. That said, the software change management process is really flawed. If this were medical device software, somebody would’ve been harmed :skull: by the flaws to date. WH needs to find a better solution.:eyes:

Far Cry 5 is out with a map editor. iirc, it runs on a proprietary and licensed version of Cryengine. The map editor seems to accomplish over 70% out of what I want in mods and DLC, and it seems enabled on consoles.

If WH were to replicate (or license a compatible version), it would make these alarming snafus a memory of the past. Not going to hold me breath but will hope  WH can do something along the same line. Heck, I’d even double down or more for it.

Had experience with games based on CryEngine 3.0 and 3.5. KCD is 3.7 + mods. …

If it works in a similar manner as the other titles i had an experience, its sort of development nightmare…

Dev nightmare for for software studio to create or end users to create own (battle) maps?

Dev nightmare to maintain consistency and fix bugs in CryEngine 3.x.

I take that to mean change control and traceability (of code/config changes) is :poop: with CryEngine 3.x. Is that correct? So, not problem of let’s say not using or misusing software change mgmt tool like JIRA and associated processes

If what you say is true… . Rule #1 set expectations with client to avoid misunderstanding and one or more of the following emotions :disappointed::unamused::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::scream::exploding_head::face_with_thermometer::face_with_head_bandage:. … WH failed and is continuing to fail to set our expectations about the patches.

Put another way, if what you say is true, WH knows the patches are going to be a tough and rough path ahead, WH needs to be transparent and proactive in communicating about it

I agree partially with that. 1.4.0 - new bug.

You as a customer cant be aware of all the bugs, so you might not notice those which dissapeared, you are more likely to notice those which were introduced with new features…

Yet they released hotfix very very fast…

It was hardly one bug. And before, torch bug one release. Next, random encounter bug different release. Pop-ins/texture degradation/delay. Hotfix following 1.3. Hotfix following 1.4. It’s a pattern of behavior.

Now, to go Holt, if change mgmt with Cryengine is intrinsically difficult and error prone, WH knows this and failed to set expectations with us accordingly. That is not due diligence in communication. It’s not for modder and software techies to communicate. It’s for the vendor

If WH isn’t going to do private (pre-release/beta) testing with subset of KCD users and if WH can’t engineer an effective change control tool, then WH needs to temper its releases … potentially with caveats.

Slow texture load is an issue with CryEngine 3.x in general…

Never had this type of lag with Far Cry… even whilst driving through areas with buildings
