It is a bit complicated and does have several reasons.
First, we need to know to which country the game is going because of the taxes. And to be on the safe side here legally, we also ask for the address. But we can´t and we will not controll if you use a placeholder address.
The other reason has to do with the history of the site itself. For a physical copy, we would need to know about the address of course, and it was always possible to upgrade a profile from a digital to a physical version in the past. Therefore we asked for the address from everyone at some point, and now it would need some efford to change that system, even if it is just a digital version.
