So I’m wondering, at some point in the game I’d love to go on a two, or three day hunting/fishing trip. Can I bring, say one of those canvas tents with me? Build a campfire in the wilderness? Cook and eat some of my catch? I think that a camping mechanic would be neat, and rather fitting given the times and that there won’t be “Inns” every 100 meters down the road.

I’m a sucker for tedious but immersive features so I’d love if there was camping and stuff.

Camping would be really cool. And you can place tents and camp fires in the forest where you can eat and rest, and wash your clothes if they are dirty. Then, go hunt when you are ready.

Exactly, I think it would be awesome. Considering they’re make such a rich environment it’d be great to be able to fully take advantage of it and enjoy it.

There will be designated places for camping in the countryside. So you can camp at certain places but you cannot camp wherever you want by taking camping gear with you. On the brighter side at these campsites you can meet some fellow travelers on the road.

Generated campsites are very difficult tech as well as design wise. So there will be a set of predefined campsites. It’s quite likely (not yet set in stone though) there will be more types of these - for example abandoned, bandit, hunter, “public” and whatnot… each with unique specification.

Hey thanks for the replies @Kazak and @MadSmejki ! Glad to hear you’re thinking up plans for some form of camping mechanic. I like that idea of running into some fellow travelers or hunters (NPCs doing stuff

I really want that. It’d be great to just wander in the wilds and be a serf on foot
and just live in this world for awhile. Camping would make that immersive, and rewarding.
I’ve sat in a forest by a campfire, bit of hunting for few days game time. Slow TV Is real.
Going back to Skallitz doing the scavenging mission it’d be useful too, as there’s no beds
anywhere. I just got here on dusk, and looking for the treasure in the dark is not on. I could
wait, but that’d break my immersion. Add camping supplies please
