And I’d like to play on ~high settings on a 1080p monitor.
It is unknown yet on the final game will run exactly on FPS, but with the 8gb RAM you do only reach the minimum requirements. Most likely you will not be able to run the game with 60 FPS, this is not expectable.
If I upgrade to 16gb, do you think I’ll be able to run it?
You can run it now. The questionable bit is the determination to have 60fps. For that… no one knows until the optimisations are all done and tested.
What @Leiste said is true. You already can run the game with 8GB but probably not on 60FPS.
It is not possible to say yet which system will be able to do so. The game is not finished yet, it is just to early to answer this question in a reasonable way.
For now, you won’t be able to run the pre optimized beta @60 FPS on high settings. I am running an i7 4970K, 16GB DDR3 1866mhz and a GTX 1080FE 8GB. I get around 30-55FPS on very high
Don’t really know after the optimizations!
If you have 30-55FPS now, you will have no problem with the final game at all.
