Can I somehow move installation to another drive, or reinstall without losing save games?

I have an SSD and a fairly slow HDD, and given the game’s size, I’ve naturally installed it on the HDD. However, now that I see the load times when starting the game up, I’m thinking about moving it to the SSD to make it faster. I’m not sure if it’s IO bound, but my guess is it is, as with most games?

Anyway, the question is … if I uninstall using the launcher and reinstall on another drive, will I still keep the saves? Or can I just move the installation directory (and maybe trivially update some things)?

Not a good idee! People who have done this, run into problems. Could´t start the game and couldn´t install the game again.

Look into your installation directory. Open the user_kingdomcome folder. There is another folder: whgame
Save this folder and you have what you need.

It certainly doesn`t work.
I bought the game, and copied my brothers install as our internet is pitifully slow.
But the launcher does not check the validity of files, so you will end up downloading the whole thing again.
I left my computer overnight and part of the day downloading it :frowning:

Such experiments are not recommended. It can be the case that you will destroy your game and that you will not be able to uninstall and reinstall the Beta properly anymore. And right now we can´t help on this problem, as we didn´t found out what is causing the issues exactly.

I imagine it will be down to the Uninstall routine not removing all Registry entries, that is what usually messes up these things.

Nothing to stop you going in and deleting all registry entries containing Warhorse or Kingdom Come.
