Will you be able to harvest human flesh off of a corpse and cook it into a lovely stew ?
Hi,
I believe that in 1400’s the church had a big impact on people behaviour. The church did not promoted cannibalism.
I’ve read that the priest’s weapons were usually stun weapons like maces because the church even disproved the sight of blood.
From http://www.askacatholic.com : “The Church believes in the Resurrection of the dead, therefore the bodies of the dead should be respected. Thus, any action such as cannibalism, or the scattering of even cremated remains, is forbidden.”
So considering the probable position of the Church in those times and the weight of the Church in public opinion, IMHO, cannibalism at this time was unlikely.
That being said, I am not completely against the concept of being able to, even if it looks brutal to me
And if it is a reasonable feature to implement, maybe it can even be a disease vector (dream on) ?
Sure but couldn’t you do it secretly. After you kill someone cut some of their flesh off and cook it. If the church doesn’t know it wont hurt them
And after you’ve done that, you will start to ear rumours about a werewolf
It is an RPG
I question why you would even bring that up in the first place…
Anyways, maybe. Depends if Warhorse wants to get banned everywhere in the world or not.
How would that get it banned? Dayz, rust has cannibalism and they are very popular games and they aren’t banned. I brought it up because say you were starving after a battle and needed some food you could just cut off some flesh and eat it maybe cook it.
Well, while I don’t have anything to contribute to a discussion of Medieval Cannibalism, this is very much a myth, and priests would arm themselves as anyone else in the period would: Whatever best served the situation and that they could afford.
i mean i have never hit anyone with a mace but i would be pretty confident their would be blood and it would cause alot more visible damage to a person than a sharp well looked after sword
Well, based on your usual replied to suggestions about adding unhistorical stuff…
I would say that you are just trolling…
Who me? I really don’t see a problem with Cannibalism. Cannibalism was and always be a thing so i wouldn’t say its not historical to add it.
How about they added a perk like they had in fallout 3 where you could eat dead enemies and regain hunger.
Neither did I
After further researches I believe this is true maybe except if :
a) sword cuts an artery
or
b) blunt weapon against armoured opponent (blood staying in some layer of clothing/armor).
logic would say that if i would to smash someones skull with say a hammer i would cause more damage than if i was to stab someone with a kitchen knife
I think it depends on where you hit them. For instance hitting someone in the chest with a mace probably wont do as much damage as a sword thrust through the chest.
i would disagree . cannibalism is ultimately a real issue and taboo one yes but it exists and i would certainly guess they were plenty of secret societies that would practice such acts
Yeah and what if Henry just had the rumblings that only hands could satisfy
agreed yes but generally if you was to swing a mace you wouldnt aim for the chest as your swing would come in a down would direction to get the force so you would hit the head or shoulder which would cause massive damage .
where as a sword you’re using the edges to slice or the tip to stab so you would aim for the body to slice through or thrust into
Yep, I guess it depends on impact area, impact strength and other factors. Lets go to the ballistic-torso-jelly-tests (reference to cold steel gore tests)
edit : I’m talking about this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0ledM32E4A (watch out ! it’s kind of gore-porn !)
hold on are we talking about masturbating here . did i miss something
