I am not sure if this is a bug or not, but whenever I try to fight with captain Bernard in the arena, he only has the dialogue for questions about rattay, and training for swords, but it is the leveled based one. So I wanted to know if I had to do all the level based training first until I can fight him in the arena or if this is a bug.
I think he hates you… 
Now, where are you in the storyline? Are you looking for Capt. Bernard in working hours?

ya you hafta be past work hard train hard part and go to him at certain parts of the day . Not just anytime you see him there.
