Captain Bernard stuck in neuhof fix?

I’m all the way to the quest all that Glisters and bernard will not leave neuhof, it’s kinda upsetting because my character so far has been my best one yet except he can’t do master strikes because bernard is glitched out, is there a fix for this? Ps4 btw

Addendum, I’ve downloaded the From the ashes DLC but havent started it. Is there a way I can train in the arena in pribyslavitz to learn master strikes and the such in lieu of Captain Bernard So I dont have to create a 6th playthrough because of yet another glitch?

Try verifying your game files. I had a glitch where I could not select items in inventory. After verifying the game files Berthold the Huntsman whom I had murdered previously (to bypass another glitch : :slight_smile: )made a miraculous reappearance in the game. Maybe this will reset Bernard for you.

Just noticed you are on PS4. So is this even possible?

Nah bro, without external tools I’m sure there’s no way to mess with any of the files on PS4. Thanks for the reply though. This game has slowly become the greatest game I think I’ve ever played, but one playthrough after the other since launch has made me throw it too the side until patches come out to clean up some of the serious bugs and glitches. This playthrough being so perfect so far is going to destroy my enthusiasm if I cant get a work around, surely there has to be another character to learn from or something. Bernard cant be that pivotal for combat training.

If you build the guard house in the DLC, you can have a nice combat arena where you can train most things. But I don’ t know if you can train masterstrikes…
Does anyone else know??? (I have learned it before the DLC)

Well I’m going to go ahead and build it and see for myself, I’ll be sure keep everyone posted. In the mean time I would love to hear some sort of work around or a way to get him to take his grumpy ass back to Rattay.

I built the guard house and there is no way to be taught master strikes and the such using the arena. If bernard glitches out and you haven’t learned the special moves you’re blocked out of them indefinitely. This character is lost and I’m going to have to make yet another one.

Hey guys I found a fix but you have to load a save from before you report to Bernard about ginger. I’m not sure if this works 100% but it worked for me. So you go back to neuhof but DON’T report to Bernard instead talk to sir radzig and tell him everything it will say you failed to report to Bernard and he should walk back to rattay :blush: hope this works for everyone and good luck

Even if he does go back to Rattay, he and all of the other guards will leave their horses there and walk. It is all very buggy.

I like to pretend there is some dialogue I missed where they say they are donating their horses to help get the farm going again.

Just like Radzig leaving his horse next to the big farm(?) south of Ledetchko when getting back from the lookout point… Now his horse is there indefinitely. Also when Bernard and his men leave the horses in Neuhof they will all use the “standard” brown horses on Robber Baron quest.
