CDR interviews with Warhorse developers in English

The Czech site CDR.cz started publishing a series of of video interviews with Dan Vávra, Tomáš Plch and Michal Hapala. The first interview was published on Tuesday and I decided to bring it to the international audience by making a translation.

Read it here: Interview with Dan Vavra of Kingdom Come: Deliverance

I first wanted to make subtitles, but Dan likes to always answer with one looong sentence, and making reasonable subtitles from that is just too much work.

New information

  • Warhorse hired a historian
  • There are going to be three castles in Act I. Two of them are in Rataje nad Sázavou.
  • There are not going to be changes of season in Act I.
  • Player reputation will be computed for each individual NPC as well as for groups, like villagers in each village, the Church and so on.
  • Levelling will work like in Fallout. There will be skills, perks and stats.
  • Burning down pubs will not be implemented.
  • Riding across the game world on horseback may take about 15 minutes of real time
  • It is possible that there will be just one ending.

Thank you for providing the link and translation on that. There was some new interesting information and some things we already knew.

great. nice to see they’re not doing boring cliched 100 endings with red and blue flavors save the world nonsense. or non-games like rust or dayz.

Great!

Not so sure about that one. I still want to feel that what I’m doing makes a difference somewhere. As long as that’s the case, one ending is ok. Most games that implement multiple endings do it very poorly anyway. I’m looking at YOU Deus Ex: Human Revolution!

Thank you! I would have totally missed this interview if you hadn’t done this.

So it seems there won’t be any snow/seasons in the game…:frowning:

But maybe in act 2 or 3 then.

[/quote]Indeed. We said that during KS campaign BTW. Although it would be sweet to have it it would multiply the workload - separate assets and AI for each season.

Yeah, that’s of course right.
