At the beginning i sold everything to the merchants in Rattay. So some merchants had more then 50k Groschen from trading with me. During From The Ashes, i sold all my stuff at the merchants in Prybislavice. Back to Rattay they got reset to default 400 groschen or a little bit more …
Is your quest timed or can u wait some days in another place, far away from Ambrose? Or simply buy stuff from Ambrose?
