Chivalry: Medieval Warfare FREE weekend on Steam

Hey guys and gals,

I just wanted to inform you that you can play Chivalry: Medieval Warfare for free this weekend on Steam (and the game is on a -75% sale as well).

I don’t have any connection to the gamer or its devs/publisher nor do I personally recommend the game to you (there are enough reviews on the internet for making up your own opinion) but perhaps the game might interest some of you history and medieval nerds. It may not be that realistic but there are not that many medieval games to choose from anyway…

Edit: I just mentioned that you can play Arma 3 for free this weekend as well and that they are giving ARMA: Cold War Assault away for free!

And if you want to support the Czech game developement scene, there is a “Bohemia Anniversary Sale” at the moment on Steam.

i don’t like this thing where we are forced to choose from a selection of bad games. personally, i will wait for kcd for good medieval experience.

Sure, feel free to do so. Other people might want to play something in the upcoming months…

I think I gona stick with ‘War of the Vikings’ although I like that Chivalry:MW has first person.

I play both :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: look for me im fib118 in both games add me on steam and ill have a game with u guys. Ps im 1 of two classes in chiv archer or maa with a stick. Usually

They did had such free weekend already with Chivalry. I tried. And I got stuck in tutorial, when you enter the circle pit where you are supposed to fight and try out the differen weapon types.
Giving it a second chance, the game was kind of fun - though 'twas not at all what I was expecting. The game itself is relatively fast-paced almost quake-like to some extend…
Nevertheless I got kind of bored after some 2-3h of trying. In close combat you rather hack and slay and with bows on distance you’ll never see where your arrow landed - at least archery was not just holding your target in aim and pushing buttons.

I nevertheless had more fun with War of the Vikings predecessor “War of the Roses” until some players found out how to exploit the weapons’ system for just thoughtless spraying of eventual hits and start ‘spamming’ their blows… It was fun taking those out with an arrow or crossbow… Then they hanged it, too - possiblybecause anyone was crying there were to much archery-folks around… Well end of story is: The game felt patched to death to me, due to the devs listening too much to their players. – That’s my opinion 'bout it, reality and other opinions may differ.
War of the VIkings I only played in Beta-phases was fun for a while, but soon it just felt like WotR in just another clothing.
