Choke option not appearing

Hey, being a few hours into the game on ps4 and having more problems with bugs than i can count, perhabs this is a problem where someone could actually help me. It never occured to me that henry has the ability to choke someone out from behind because the button for it never even once appeared. Then i saw someone do it on youtube to abuse a xp glitch and thought to myself, well the whole experience i had with this game was nothing but bad so far, perhabs its time to end my mysery and glitch me some xp.

The problem i am having is, that no matter how i position myself behind someone, there is never the option to choke him out. I have seen people do this with stealth 0 right at the start of the game so i ruled out not being experienced enough. Is this another bug on ps4 like the R2 button not working most of the time or lockpicking being actually impossible every other try, or am i just too dense to figure it out?

You have to crouch, be behind them, and not have them be in combat. No idea about PS4, but were you doing all that?

Yes i was crouching behind them, i had my noise to a minimum and i was not currently fighting anyone. Normally, on pc, there would be the option to choke them out in the bottom right corner, but nothing like that showed itself. Mashing every button resulted in nothing either, sadly.

L2 bug possibly? Can you remap the button? Otherwise no idea. Could be a bug if you’re definitely crouched, behind, and they’re not in combat. You also need to be pretty close.

No, not a bug, just the devs being assholes. Still, thanks for your help attempt mate. Hope you have more fun with this garbage game than i had.

Knock-out is still possible on first level, you are able to knock out NPC right after dialog with mother in Skalitz. Note you can´t knock out some NPCs, but you are able to knock out vast majority of NPCs in the game.

And i need to warn you. Please follow the rules and try to behave like a inteligent mature human being without using this language.

What you just saw there was me vending my frustration about the most buggy and non functional game i have seen in over 10 years. i have since calmed down. As i am done with this game it won’t really matter anymore, but i hate unclosed topics so i still put this out there as it may help some people.

Sorry but, what you are saying simply is wrong. You can’t knock people out no matter how you position yourself, what button you press or who you are trying it against, believe me i tried and the skill is simply not available until you reach stealth level 5. If there is any way around it, feel free to describe how, because otherwise you are just spreading false information (at least for us poor ps4 players).

@crom I don’t blame ya, the game has many bugs and alot of them are frustrating as hell. Haven’t had a problem with stealth choking on Ps4 though, personally.

Does the description of the “takedown” skill in your game also say you need a minimum of stealth 5 to learn it? If not, what version of the game are you having, if you do not mind answering?

“Takedown” does not have a minimum level requirement at all, “Stealth kill” though which is the one you kill with a dagger has a minimum level of 5, perhaps you were mistaking it for that? I’m on version 1.04

Then i have no idea why it is not working for me. No, the dagger skill is named entirely different, in my game the skill “takedown” has the requirement of stealth 5, and it is grayed out too, so thats why i can’t use it on anyone. So it clearly is a bug that i am stuck with, glad to know even shit like this exists. Well it does not matter anymore, as mentioned this game fucked with me too many times already so this is just another nail in the coffin. I will demand my money back because this thing is not stable, has killed progress for me more times than i can count and just torture to play due to all the problems. My own damn fault for believing the hype and thinking that scamming people with unfinished alpha state products is something only big companies would do. Lesson learned.

I seen people use takedown in the begining of the game how do they do it?
