Combat Academy and Tournament mode!

So the stretch goals have been announced! What do people think? I am hoping we hit the £900,000 mark, an isolated tournament mode where you are free to experiment sounds like great fun!

Yeah I agree this tournament mode sounds amazing! People will complain it should be multiplayer, but I disagree. I commend Warhorse for sticking to single player. This game continues to be more and more of the game I’ve always wanted.

In a thread about combat mechanics I commented something about making a full game just on medieval duels, more deep and complex maybe, with stances and guards and styles and everything. This sounds similar. In conclusion: I’m happy!

I would definitely want to try the tourney mode, even if it’s outside the single-player experience. It might even help me when I play the main story.

I’m not opposed to the tournament mode (single or multi). I think it would add a little good natured competition and bring more social interaction outside the forums. Those that want a strictly RPG solo game wouldn’t have to play it but it would be there for those who want a little more.

I don’t think the KS update mentions any multiplayer although I could be wrong.

Update 6 mentions that while multi is definitely not in the cards for Act 1, they are considering co-op multiplayer in the future.

Sorry I meant they don’t mention it for the tournament mode in this stretch goal.

well i’ve been against tournaments, but i guess they’ll find a way to do it realistically, thought it sounds like of like an arena disembodied from the rest of the game. not too excited about it to be honest, i can already pick a fight in the game, i don’t need an area to do it.

but if they can do it properly, with dulled swords, dulled lances, then it could be interesting.

i think maybe they don’t think they can reach the goal so they pick one thing that no one is too excited about so they don’t need to do it anyway. just my theory
