Combat Q&A Delayed Attacks

Im on Xbox One, i feel like i press the trigger to swing my arm, throw a punch, swing the sword, etc. but it all seems quite slow and delayed. will this be improved upon via patch or updates ? are the game devs reading what the consumers are posting and addressing them ?

Seems to be working fine on my end, probably killed close to 100 Cumans/Bandits so far

so when you pull right trigger to punch he punches right away ? i pull the trigger to punch and it takes a second to do so.

Like you click then he swings, it seems proper to me :confused:, perhaps you’re not use to it?

I’m on PC using a Xbox One controller and get a similar feel. The combat input seems rather slow. But I haven’t trained at all yet and haven’t fought many people. Not sure if this is a bug with controller lag or if it is because Henry is slow when untrained and noobish.

I’ve had no problem killing 64 Bandits/Cumans so I’m not complaint. Seems fine to me

seems like you’ve gotten much further than I have thus far, hopefully with a little development the combat timing will improve for me. thank you for your input @zeltchoron.

No your totally right, The combat system is sluggish. There is constantly a delay. Often times I see an oppurtnity to attack, but the game is nearly a second behind the command and attacks well after causing me to miss my window. Its almost like you have to predict oppurtunities which isn’t a fair assessment were not fighting real people were fighting a wonky ai that does really strange things sometimes.

Yeah, Henry is slow AF. His punches are moving at half a mile an hour.

I’ve managed to best a number of enemies but I can’t say it was from really well planned attacks. I’m on PC and I move my mouse to select a direction for attack and then click the the mouse button. It takes a good .5 to 1 second before my guy finally swings. Maybe that is how it is supposed to work?

Enemies seem to be able to chain attacks way faster than I ever can. Basically I just thrust attack until they die. Was really hoping for more out of this combat system.

yeah I’m playing on teh pc as well and they seem to perfectly block, parry and master strike every single attack wihout fail. Combat is, Oh I got a luccky hit spam until he dies now, oh he master blocked and his buddy shot me with an arrow. I either get lucky and butcher them all or am very unlucky and the AI trumps everything, chain combos me to death with no chance of retaliation or escaping. There is no inbetween, which really sucks if you spent a long time questing and you die needlesly to some bandit and have to back track 3-4 hours just to die again.

If you are having troubles with backtracking hours I’d suggest this mod since you are on PC. Don’t save scum too much. :sweat_smile:

I experience the same thing on PS4. Makes it extremely difficult to fight and does not make for fluid combat.
