Complete freeze with PC Shutdown

Hey There Folks,

i already saw the Feedback about freezes, but mine is different.

While the most of the other Topics describe freezes about 2-5 seconds, the game at totally random times freezes completly and i can’t do anything more. I have to shut the Computer manually down or take the power to get 'em shut down and then restart.
It always happens about 10-15min after i startet the session.
And it seems like it first came with the new Patch 1.4 or is coming from the From the Ashes DLC. Don’t know.

I haven’t had this issue. What are your PC specs and are you running any mods?

PC specs are just fine. I could play the game totally normal before.
And yeah, i have tried it with mods about a week ago, but they didnt really work. so i just took the modded files out of the ordners again. there wasnt anything to install and i didnt deinstall something. should all be normal again.

Have you tried to verify the files through steam?

i did it now. nothing special there. everything is fine, says steam

Using any reshades or altered your user.cfg files any?

No. No mods there. I downloaded a user.cfg once with the other mods, but there isnt any original one. so i placed it just in the normal folder and removed it, when i deleted all the other mods too

I could maybe just reinstall and download the game. the savefiles are saved in steam anyway

Hmm I’m running out of ideas lol. Did you delete all the mods from the data folder when they were being implemented that way?

Just a random other question, because i saw, that you are also activ on nexusmods.
Do I need the Mod Manager from Nexusmods to install mods? or does it really work the way, where i place the file in the Mod Folder?

I haven’t found a mod merger ot manager that is updated enough to work properly. I would just create my own Mods folder and unzip each mod into it. Try them a couple at a time to try and avoid conflicts. But Im running about 15 mods right now with no problems.

Just make sure you have the file structure correct. It should be KCD root directory with a Mods folder created in it. Then unzip each mod into the Mods folder.

The DLC will screw up several mods causing no name badges, perma loads, or no talking to NPC’s or the Marius guy. or a CTD.
Also I believe one of my mods might cause random NPCs to go without clothes and only since the DLC.
cheat mod 's own all stolen command will CTD. Yet strangely outside of the DLC are they still work.
So yes find the mods that now affect the game.
