While aiming with mouse is more precise, there probably is a reason why most PCs at Warhorse office have x360 or X1 controller connected to them… Even on the Man’s table is one to be found
maybe they need to test the controls for the console versions? i dont think the controller is a good option against a keyboard. I’m sure if you buyed the game for PC you’re probably more confortable with a keyboard
They have to test both versions, thats why.
I found a mouse and keyboard worked better than the gamepads I tried in the alpha/beta backers got, this is even given I had to use my keyboard configuration program to remap ALL the keyboard keys so they were grouped around the arrow keys for left-hand mouse use rather than that WASD crap (I am right-handed post joystick and mouse pre WASD)
it may be matter of prefference, I found playing on my Xbox controller beter than keyboard/mouse but I preffer playing on Xbox. Still the analogue movement feels much better/natural
I tested all controllers (PS4, Steam controller, MKB) and MKB came out as clear winner for me every time.
Mouse and keyboard was better for everything but combat, where I had some strange issues with positioning the 5 directional thing on the screen. Immediately when i stopped moving the mouse, it went to some random direction. This thing was too sensitive with mouse and combat was better on a controller for this reason.
Noone here has mentioned that, if you play with a controller on a PC, you can not use Bandages to recover from bleeding. There just is no option as long as the controller is connected to the PC…
The gamepad is not an appropriate weapon for a knight! Tis a peasants tool.
Mouse is vastly superior in this game mate…
A mouse with side buttons I mean. If you use a standard mouse then yeah, controller might be better.
I myself play with a G700s mouse and kick using a side mouse button and block using a usb pedal with my foot meaning I don’t have to press Q to block like a moron and can move around with ease
the fidelity of a gamepad’s very short sticks will always, by simple mathematics, be at a disadvantage compared to a mouse. The control sticks deflect approximately 40mm or so. The mouse effectively provides over 200mm.
But when an experienced gamepad user is using a gamepad, the results are perfectly fine. So use whatever you’re best at on PC. It seems my 12 year old nephews are wizards with gamepads and are quite precise. They would be bad with a mouse…until they learned to use it. But they would always prefer the gamepad.
USB foot pedal? That’s interesting, never heard of that. But yeah might rebind block and kick to my mouse now…
I use the USB foot pedal to block in Assassin’s Creed Origins and thought Let me try it with this game and man it enhances the gameplay so much. Get one. i have the Scythe USB Dual foot pedal. Blocking/parrying becomes childs play
Also make FULL use of your mouse buttons as they once again give you vastly superior reflex.
