I’ve pressed every button on the keyboard and I can’t draw my sword or use a torch.
The combat tutorial is so quick and short, I have no idea what I’m doing. List of controls, PLEASE!
Have you tried the “Help” screen in game?

Holy crap, it literally took me about a minute to figure out how to even respond to this topic. As much as a mess a the game is, this forum is the worst I’ve seen in 25 years of gaming. The game itself feels like they gave the CryEngine to a 5 year old and this is what happened.

I’m going to go cry myself to sleep for spending $35 on this. I’m a passionate HEMA fighter and I had such high hopes for this. I understand it’s in Beta, but OMFG! Seriously??
I think this is too hard for him. Which button? “F1”, “Alt+F4”, “Ctrl+Alt+Del”?
It took you a minute to see the great big Reply button in the corner of every comment? Sir are you a 5 year old as well or are you just having a bad day and this forum and the beta where the small tipping point.

While I agree the forum is a bit crap, it’s not really that hard to find that big reply button. Anyway, as far as I am aware, you select your weapons by pressing numbers on a keyboard, pretty much like in any contemporary fps.
You need to have the weapons equiped on your inventory screen as well, obviously.
Yeah, it was probably mostly the latter combined with frustration over what a complete mess all this is.I’m figuring it out. Still can’t believe how much work there is to be done on this before release. Wow.
All that being said, is there a way to set the controls up so left handed people can play?
Not right now, key mapping is not implemented yet, but it will in the final game.
As the only active keys are WASD, with Q, E, F, X, C, 1, 2 and I would think just moving the keyboard to the other side of the desk would be enough, for now.
It is a little clumsy for right handed players too as it stands, but I don’t really see how it would be worse for one of a sinister persuasion.
Anyone else having issues with keyboard controls? WASD don’t do anything for me, the arrow keys move, Tab, Caps Lock, Shift all make my character move. When I check the controls in the menu it says WASD. E doesn’t even interact either. I tried setting up a usb game controller but no joy there either. I was a beta tester and had issues then also; this makes it super frustrating because once again I forked out good money for broken product.
In the codex (when you open inventory) you can find full controls.
i had same issue but luckly tried help early on and then later noticed it was pages of info which helps resolve another issue. games good overall if not for the stupid lockpicking mini game would be quite happy overall.
