CPU Compatibility [Help me]

Hey folks, this forum might not be so appropriate for this post, but I’m kinda used to writing here now so I hope there is some bigger nerds than me out there who can help.

I’m planning to build a new desktop computer and I’ve found all the parts and checked their compatibility but when I did another check today then I noticed that the processor I found seems to have or not have two issues regarding my RAM.

CPU: http://ark.intel.com/products/75123/intel-core-i7-4770k-processor-8m-cache-up-to-3_90-ghz
RAM: http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KHX24C11T3K4_32X.pdf

First Issue: As far as I know all Intel Haswell CPUs is made to use DDR3L RAM, but will it also be compatible for normal DDR3?

Second Issue: It seems like the CPU only supports or utilizes RAM speeds of 1333-1600 Mhz, but when I look on some forums they say it’s good to go for 2400 Mhz RAM.

  • As you can see the best answer says it is a good idea to use 2400Mhz.

So if there is anyone out here who knows anything about this I would like to hear your opinion.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I think I found something that might clear up stuff but I’m not 100% sure still.
Look at the parts outlined with red, I hope someone can tell me if that is clear indisputable proofs of compatibility.

I use a i7 4770 (without the K) and Corsair Vengeance Low Profile (1600Mhz).
The RAM are “normal” DDR3 and everything is running fine.

Concerning the RAM speeds you might want to take a look at this article: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7364/memory-scaling-on-haswell

To make a long story short: yes, you would be able to use DDR3 2400Mhz

Thanks for the reply, it’s a great article that you’ve sent me. On the light of that information it seems like that the games tested is ran optimal on a 2133Mhz CL-9 RAM block. So I’m going to switch to the G.Skill RipjawsX GB DDR3-2133 C9, even though it’s a bit more expensive, I’ve been planning on getting a new computer for you could say a while now and this really needs to be top notch.

Edit:
But actually when I look at the single GPU test it does seem like 2400Mhz is better.

I guess that concludes that 2400Mhz is one of the best to have?

Glad this article solved some questions. I would conclude the same
