Crafting Add-on suggestions

I have few few ideas for the Devs involving the crafting aspect of the game. I’ve read in countless places around the web that there was supposed to be Blacksmithing, but there was too much to it to meet the deadline. I personally think that leaves much to be desired, don’t get me wrong, the game is phenomenal, but it’s kind of sad that you’re a Blacksmiths son, but can’t even create your own sword. So here’s my suggestion. Why not add it in segments? Start with Weapon Smithing, it. being the smaller of the 4 (Weapons, Armour, Clothes, and Wood working), it would be the most logical to start with, should probably add wood working in there at the same time for bows and grips (if it’s in depth). Then move on to Tailoring, it being the lesser of the Armour, it would definitely be less complex. Lastly, the actual Armour Smithing, which would probably be a more monumental task. Should be a free DLC or update, it being a left out mechanic and all. Also, there is an over abundance of Wooded areas and Abandoned mines, aswell as hunting. So I think it should be up to the player to gather the supplies to craft, much like Alchemy. It would be a great way to stand out from the rest, so long as you stick with the immersive qualities of the game, and don’t take the quick route like Elder Scrolls. Pretty sure the true role players here wouldn’t mind taking a few hours to craft an entire set of gear. Customization would also be key, the higher your skill level, the more beautiful your design could be, the mini-games should also have serious consequences if done wrong, for example, lower quality, lower durability, etc. This mechanic would also be a great way to make money, as it stands, there aren’t really any big money makers, and buying good armour right now, costs a damn fortune. Not to mention the upkeep aswell as getting stronger weapons, tack on outfittinb your horse, then we’re talking days of playing just to get proper gear for later missions. Hell, with this mechanic, you could even play with the possibility of having the player carry on his/her fathers business.
