Crash on startup, after new Install with Saves!?

Hey, I’m sorry if this has been answered already, I tried to search a few terms but I haven’t found an answer yet!

My problem is this, I had to do a clean Windows installation on my sons PC, So I made backups of the save games folder that includes - Profiles, Saves, and Shaders! So I tried a few things to get the backup saves to work! I tried to run the game first then close it and restore the files, but only crashes at startup, so tried a few other ways as well to restore files and every time I try to load the game after I restore the save files I get a crash at start up! I have also tried all the folders including Saves folder, or just Saves folder alone, and still nothing! My kid and I have put some good hours into this game and I just don’t want to have to start all over! However it seems that is exactly what we might be forced to do! If anyone on here has an idea as to get this working, I would be most grateful! Thank-You all so very much for your time! Please have an amazing day/evening!

It has been stated in past thread suggested by the devs to delete old saves when patchng the latest one. Suggesting that they may have been corrupted.
It may sound extreme but you could delete the old saves or store them off the system on say a thumb drive if you don’t wish to delete and see what happens.

First: do all windows updates
Second: get the newest video card drivers
By the way: you only need the save folder

I have done all the above, that’s why I posted this,! I couldn’t find an answer to why it still wont work, I just dont want to have to start all over again!

The game was running great when I had to reinstall windows! SO i copied the folders and reinstalled windows and updated everything, then I tried to run the game with the saves and it just keeps closing itself.

If you start a new game will it also crash?
You wrote it crashed at startup? Or did it crash on loading?

No the game runs fine if I dont use backup saves

also yes it laods fine if I dont use saves, but when teh saves are added to the folder the game will not load at all!

I got it workign by just copyign save files themselves withotu the exit file… ty for trying to help! Have a great day!
