CryEngine game "Homefront: The Revolution" revealed/announced

Deep Silver and Crytek just announced Homefront: Revolution, another entry in the Homefront franchise.

I post this here because it’s anohter CryEngine game which should show the possibilites and qualities of the engine. And it’s very nice that the game is officially announced for PS4, Xbox One, Windows (PC), Mac and Linux. I applaud Deep Silver for bringing the game and the engine to each and every PC OS out there besides next-gen consoles. For the game itself, well, if you’re a FPS fan you should probably put the game on your watchlist…

Enjoyed the MP in the first revision, even though it was peppered with hax0rs…

The SP campaign was waaaaay too short, and the non-skippable cut scenes meant zero replay… unless drunk…

Maybe… depends on the port quality…

Port quality? CryEngine games don’t have to be ported…

But as I said, it’s more about the graphical fidelty and the tech than about the game itself.

The UI does…

Nothing destroys the experience quicker than QTEs, gimpy control response and obstructive UI…

There are no QTEs in an FPS…

UI is really the smallest problem in a game like that. Controls should be pretty solid as well. That wasn’t a problem in any other Crytek shooter so far on PC.

I’m here just to say that first Homefront was a terrible game, short and boring. I couldn’t care less about this next piece of art.

I’ve expected nothing else from you… :stuck_out_tongue:

Homefront was a piece of crap…boring, repetitive, cliche, uninovative, wanna-be-another-call-of-duty…
At least they didnt put a fu*king Russians or Chinese as the enemies like in every game and decided to go for Koreans…

Not really surprised that this game didnt pull out THQ from bankruptcy, still shame though, their Warhammer games were unforgetable :frowning:

lol reminds of, i think kung fu panda game (shitty, but nice water :D), the qte in this game was pushing letters on the whole keyboard ! that was impossible, you had like half a second to press letters like ‘P’ then ‘F’ then ‘8’ then ‘Q’ and then ‘X’…daaayyyum

There was simply no realistic way the game would ever live up to the hype… much like Rage, Brink, Watchdogs. Bit of a tight-rope stroll.

The MP, once you got into it, was surprisingly fun…

aside from the graphics, that looks lame as hell. another shoot em up, with “hollywood” story and acting.

why is it you always play the gangsta/revolutionary/criminal? it gets so boring.

Could you now stop derailing this thread with pointless “Homefront was boring” or “This game looks lame” comments, please??? Nobody cares if you like the game/franchise or not, seriously.

I started this thread because the game uses CryEngine and is developed by Crytek personally. This should mean that the game is another benchmark for the possible graphical fidelity of Kingdom Come Deliverance. That’s something we should talk about here in the KCD forum…

Offtopic is offtopic. Deal with it :stuck_out_tongue:

And…Crytek just announced another new CryEngine game called HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age.

Looks like a F2P Left4Dead clone to me but the graphics should be nice again… :stuck_out_tongue:

Possibly an improved Dead Island?

Personal caution is it’s the same team responsible for Darksiders which, at least for me, was dullness personified…

Maybe, but I personally guess the game won’t offer a real story campaign in the way Dead Island did.

I’m worried about the IP… but at this moment it’s too early for any speculations about the quality…
I personally loved Homefront, both SP and MP and I’m suprised by some of these hate comments. Wouldn’t expect it from you guys as otherwise I do agree with most of your comments elsewhere… Story may be a cliche but it is very well paced and I overall enjoyed it several times in a row… it is also the only game I have almost all Steam achievements with more then 3 months of pure game play time in MP. For 4,99€ it was probably the best spent money on the Steam… My opinion. Make your own.
