Cuman Shield dissapearing

So i’ve had this issue of my Cuman metal shield dissarpearing after doing some training with Captain Bernard.
I’ve reloaded my game multiple times trying different methods each time(from simply unequipping the shield to giving it to my horse as well as a fast trip to the Ratay mill to drop if off in the chest there aswell as selling the shield before starting training and trying to buy it back after)

In each of those instances my Cuman metal shield dissapeared from said inventory/horsetack/chest/vendor.

Is there anything i can do?
At the moment i cant train with Bernard without losing my shield

Could you go and forget that shield and buy a Brouge(sp?) shield from the Rattay armorer? It is the one that has the notch in it( originally meant for couching a lance). that shield type has a defense rating of 150, highest in the game.

I could and stuff but i like the cuman shields look.
I know there are better shields out there but that does not change the fact i lose my shield everytime i train with Bernard.
Have not tested this with other shields but i suppose they would dissapear to?

Of the times ( admittly few) that I trained with him I have not lost my shield. (PC BTW)
perhaps you have a bug?

I have come across a better looking shield in the game: decorative shield… A fancy painted kite one .

I trained with him in the early game ofcourse and decided i wanted some more time with a Axe and Mace.
From what i can tell the paid bits of training are fine.
But i asked Bernard to train some repostes and i guess that since the game gives you a wooden axe or wooden bat i guess the game removes my shield.
The strange thing is it will 100% delete the shield no matter where it is(like i said i tried multiple times were i gave the shield to my horse, simply unequipped it, put it in the chest at the mill and even selling it to a vendor in the hopes of buying it back.

Im on the Xbone and i do realize its not the best machine ever BUT it does work somewhat.

Just strange how it removes the shield if u ask me

did you ask to use a weapon and a shield? I was pondering if so perhaps the game swapped out the practice shield for yours and lost it after the session was over?

Am going to do another play line shortly and will see when I get to that point.

i merely selected the option where u can train the perfect block thing(you know blocking a strike then hitting right away).

It gave me 3 options to either practice with a Sword, Axe or Mace
Its not the normal free roam training where u can choose for either a wooden weapon or a steel one.
Atleast thats what i think did it i also paid bernard for a total of 2 thing(Beginner level of Axe and Level 5 of Defense).
But since i did that before(in the early game) and kept my shield im guessing its prob the Reposte(Riposte? idk) training
I did notice that the first time when i tried this i had my shield equipped on my back and it was gone the second the game loaded me into the fighting ring

You got me. I can’t think of anything since I really did only the minimum training and with a long sword, so no shield.
Later in the game I went with poisoned( was using on swords too) ceremonial mace and the 150 shield. With the perks and good strength it had become reasonably effective against full plate.

@Stovie i had that experience with the bandits with the exotic shields. got the same comment from WH support. it seems enemy NPCs ‘lose’ shields and weapons if you don’t attack them directly
