Current foliage gamma and contrast

I don’t know what a forum category to put this, but i think that current forest colours is a bit washed out.

  1. How it looks now: http://i.imgur.com/fBtgRup.jpg
  2. How it should be in my opinion: http://i.imgur.com/PLMeW4G.jpg
  3. The forest in real life: http://i.imgur.com/mLncDJZ.jpg

What do you think?

The original (ingame) picture looks more natural, than your version. Sorry.

Ok, but maybe just add more contrast, without colour change?

Hey Sega I think you have a point here. Your edited photos look much closer to the real life photos you provided. What values did you apply for contrast?

Contrast +20 in Photoshop (but maybe it’s too much, i’m not sure which value is better). Certainly you can adjust contrast on your monitor but it also affects on different weather and time settings. Therefore it needs some tweaking by developers i think.

Your version looks more natural then vanilla.
I don’t know why every game has washed out colors.
If i walk in summer into woods and forests, it is saturated.
Gothic has made crazy things in peoples heads
But that’s easy… and the magic word to get it is, “SweetFX”
I’ve added the SweetFX from Dying Light to KCD Beta,
but it works only with the movies and not ingame!

Yea, It would be nice to adjust the colours to remove this washed out look. It would add a lot more realism. Please Warhorse…

All will be ok i think.
