My friend Is from Czech and I told him about this game and how all the people have British accent. He replied: “but they no British in my country in that time”.
Did the devs know this and did they just cut corners because for British actors are cheaper?
Haha, no. Vavra wanted good actors and if he had to choose Czech ones, they would have to spend more time searching for them because those, who came, weren’t good. Furthermore, English was probably must since the start for them to deliver for bigger audience. Forget about German and French, it wasn’t done by them.
yeah, if they had done the voicovers in Czech then the game would sell mostly in Czech republic
… I think it would be more pirated instead.
I like to have the voices in their native tongue if possible. I think I was only able to do this with the Assassin’s Creed that took place in France.
In fact Dan Vávra had big problems to find ANY good actors. He said that at the begining they tried to require some accent consistency, but it was just not possible.
