With the news about the importance of the day one patch, I find myself in a pickle, where I live has very bad internet connection meaning that I have to buy everything in a physical copy, I don’t even have Xbox live because the connection is so bad, so getting to my question. Can I still play the game without it? And is there anyway to get the day one patch and install it offline the same way you can update the Xbox system offline with a USB? I hope if I have to get the day one patch that there is some way I can do it offline as I have been waiting for this game for ages and would be severely upset if it turns out I can’t play it

I think you can also play without patch (not recommended though)
At least that was the case with the PS4 version

Are you 100% sure about that i read something here in the forum that the update is not just a patch with bugfixes but also contains act2 witch was supposed to release way after the first act but was included after the many delays. I think you have to visit a friend to make the update ;( i hope that you don’t live in a remote village where everyone has poor internet man

I’ve seen people play without day1 patch - the voiceover wasnt complete (switched between german and english or nothing at all) and there were some bugs in it but at least he could play. But you can be right that act2 is not included since he only played the tutorial
ugh that doesn’t sound good. makes the game sound short af 
They said that the average player will probably get a palytime of 50 hours out of it. But you can play 100 hours if you want to see every quest and take your time to enjoy the game, so i don’t think it will be that short

Okey sounds good. i’m a completionist so i do every side quest possible. not possible in this game due to world lives without you being there kind of thing. but sounds good.
If you want to complete everything you need MUCH more time…

Thanks everyone…I may have to update it at my friends house then😂 k had to update my Xbox with a USB so this hopefully won’t be too much more Hassel…I hope act two is already on the game without a day one patch, I could live without some of the updates (regrettably) I did have to play Witcher 3 without it😂
Ye but lots og stuff would be better including glitches
Id have to learn to live with it, as long as I had the basics, such as act 2😂

You need to drive to your friends house at the 13th 
there is just no way around it but at least you will be able to play the fully patched game then

No not 100% i only know as much as everyone else but someone wrote about it here in the community.
Also it would make sense without it the game is about 23 gb with the patch it is 46 gb in total so the patch that supposedly includes act2 is about the same size as act 1 "23.07GB to be exact"

People on Youtube are playing the game, like this one guy is playing it on PS4 i guess he got it early, but he is telling everyone that he is playing the game with the patch installed. But ESO and Daniel just told me the patch won’t release until the day of the games release.
